Finally: a nostalgic reboot that’s got me hopeful again.
From French Milquetoast Crunch to Oreo Oh…s, the cereal industry’s recent revivals of straight-off-the-BuzzFeed-list cult classic morning munchies have all been good, but they lose their luster when compared to the originals. So like every Ghost of a Buster or CGI’d Rugrat, I’ve started viewing cereal remakes with trepidation, guarding my fond memories like a stash of pre-Y2K canned goods.
(I’ll let you all into my bunker if you remember to bring the milk.)

But with a rumor so hot it can toast my brain? Well that hesitation’s out the window. First heard from reputable snack savant Candy Hunting, long-time cereal cerebral grail Pop-Tarts Crunch will be making a comeback, presumably in both Strawberry and Brown Sugar—just like its 1994 incarnations.
Now this wouldn’t be a hard move for Kellogg’s, considering how Krave already has the shape and filling down pat.
And while this may be news to many, it wouldn’t be the first Pop-Tarts Crunch revival, either. In perhaps my favorite cereal myth, there was a test market-exclusive Pop-Tarts Cereal released in 2013. Why that test market decided to ruin the rest of our breakfasts by apparently not loving it, I’ll never know—maybe it was a targeted propaganda movement by Toaster Strudel.
All legends aside, we don’t know much else about a 21st century Pop-Tarts Crunch just yet. The listings where this nugget of potential glory came from didn’t have any pictures, but I’ll boldly say that if anyone can send me visual proof (before it becomes common place knowledge), I’ll send them a crisp—though not Mini Crisp—$20.
Until then, I’ll be injecting my Krave with molasses and jelly.
It didn’t sell that’s why they got rid of it
Where did you hear that?
I truly loved this cereal. That would be so awesome if they brought it back. Still trying to figure out why they ever got rid of it in the first place, along with most all other goodies from the 80’s and 90’s. So many great food products discontinued.
you said it… i’m probably one of the few cereal heads, that is not really excited about this rumor… it seem tooo “kravy” for me. I don’t like krave like cereal (mini wheats i like) and this cereal seems like a more fruity version of some krave cereal just with a bisquit shell… 🙁
i’m still curious and can’t wait so read the review, but i’m more “#TeamTeddyGraham!” 😉
CHEERS!
I agree – I do not think Krave is good!
