How convenient: just days after I dunked on Americanized Oreo O’s for not staying true to 2002’s Extreme Creme Oreo O’s (ostensibly the definitive, Game of the Year Edition of Oreo O’s), we get this.
Perhaps rightfully realizing the prurient wordplay potential of high-octane creme, the Oreo O’s + marshmallows equation has been redubbed Mega Stuf Oreo O’s. Equally plausible is a necessary signal boost for actual Mega Oreo cookies, whose excessive novelty has been rendered practically obsolete by the self-lampooning leviathan that is The Most Stuf Oreo cookie.
Whatever the reason, I’ll take back the Oreo O’s sass I sandwiched between praises for Fillows cereal—though despite my undying fealty to the OO’s lineage, I kind of doubt even Mega Stuf will be able to stand toe-to-toe with Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme Fillows. Why? Because American Oreo O’s still lack the foil-bagged density of both Fillows and South Korean Oreo O’s, whose rings are like fudgy life-preservers compared to America’s sprinkled-speckled water wings.
Though it’s not too late for Post to dust these bad boys with unobtainium and prove me wrong.
Mega Stuf Oreo O’s will be available at Walmart. But in a welcome break from the rest of the store’s apparent monopoly on new cereals, Mega Stuf Oreo O’s won’t come exclusively in ivory tower-sized value boxes. Rather, you can choose between a 10.5 ounce regular box and a 28 ounce resealable bag…which I guess is technically The Most Stuffed receptacle of Oreo O’s to ever exist.
At least until I’m done with the bag, that is.
Happily awaiting “Most Stuf Oreo O’s”, which would ostensibly be all marshmallows, but each delicate marbit is filled with chocolate.
Yes!!! Ever since they brought the brand back I’ve been hoping this variant would resurface, getting me some ASAP
I’m glad you’re excited about these, but I admit I’m confused about what’s different. It just looks like the marshmallows are larger. Is there more to it?
The presence of marshmallows?
Oh, for some reason I didn’t realize there weren’t marshmallows before. It seems like an Oreo cereal should always have marshmallows! Still, considering the ubiquity of marbits in cereals these days, I thought it might be something a little more unusual than that.
(By the way, thanks for replying…your blog is indispensable reading!)
