Would it be wrong to automatically give this cereal a 1 or 2 out of 10 without trying it? I mean, it’s the edible definition of <3.
And yet, this review need not include much critical thought at all, as it’s more of a news post with photographic evidence. To illustrate Honey Nut Cheerios’ heart-healthy commitment, General Mills is releasing these Happy Heart Shape boxes starting next month. You’d think this would be a Valentine’s Day promo to give to your sweetheart, but Buzz the Bee would prefer if you used chunks of ivory to grind it to an acidic pulp and pump the spoils into your beatin’ heart. Romantic, right?
Of course, these Honeypie Cheerios don’t taste any different than the regular rings. In fact, only like 30-50% of the pieces are even heart shaped, making them look more like, um, naturally endowed thiccheerios. Worth a kiss on the cheek, right?
If you already love Honey Nut Cheerios, this charming novelty is probably worth it for the cuteness factor. Otherwise, there’s nothing HNC can do that Honey ‘N Oats Cheerios Oat Crunch can’t do better. Buzz the Bee may have my heart, but those granola shards have my soul.
The Bottom Line: 8 gloateous maximuses out of 10
You folks pretty much ruined the cereal it’s not crunchy to the bite anymore but rather turns into a mushy mixture in to your mouth. I take that my comment is not going to change anything or maybe it will who knows. Nevertheless, I think that as for me it would is the last time I buy them.
In a nutshell the old ones were better than the heart shapes.
I first saw the heart shaped Cheerios on Jan 14, 2020 at Walmart in Fairbanks Alaska. At the time I did not notice the Honey Nut Cheerios because I don’t buy the sweet cereals.
My reaction to the heart shaped Cheerios was: “I don’t want that”. I looked above that shelf and saw regular Cheerios. But this came in a 2-box pack. The 2-pack was sold at a discount, so I put it into my shopping cart.
But when I got home and removed the clear plastic that wrapped the 2 boxes together, I discovered to my displeasure that what I saw in the store was just a cardboard sheet that was the same size as the box. It was a façade to seemingly hide the fact that the 2 boxes that were wrapped together, were actually the boxes that contained the heart shaped Cheerio bits. I felt that I had been tricked. Of course, they taste the same. My displeasure is strictly psychological, and I can’t really explain why.
The last time my psychology stopped me from buying Cheerios was when they advertised Pampers diapers on the front of the box. I certainly would never buy such unappealing imagery on a food product.
I have no objection to heart shaped bits in Lucky Charms. They fit along with the moons, stars and clovers. However, I have not bought Lucky Charms in many years. I think that heart shaped bits are perhaps a little more acceptable in Honey Nut Cheerios.
This is lame. If they didn’t make every single cereal bit heart-shaped, why even bother making this cereal?
